The Power of Support

Living with, or caring for someone with, health challenges can feel isolating. Medical appointments, adaptive strategies, and daily management are exhausting enough. But the emotional weight of feeling misunderstood, dismissed, or alone can be even heavier.

That's where community changes everything! Our support groups create safe, compassionate spaces where you can connect with others who truly understand what you're experiencing. Led by trauma-informed facilitators, each group combines education with genuine peer support; because healing happens not just through knowledge, but through connection.

Why Support Groups Matter

Gain Validation & Understanding

When you share your experiences with people who "get it", you realize you're not alone, you're not overreacting, and your struggles are real and valid.

Learn Practical Strategies

Discover coping tools, adaptive techniques, and resources that have worked for others navigating similar challenges. Learn from lived experience, not just textbooks.

Reclaim Hope & Empowerment

Witnessing others thrive despite their challenges reminds you that it's possible. You move from feeling powerless to feeling capable of writing your own story.

Build Lasting Connections

Form meaningful relationships with people who understand your reality. These connections often extend beyond group sessions, creating ongoing support networks and lasting friendships.

We create space to discuss what is often silenced, validate pain that's frequently minimized, and share strategies for advocating within healthcare systems that do not always listen.

Topics covered include:

  • Managing chronic reproductive health conditions
  • Navigating fertility challenges and pregnancy loss
  • Hormonal health and life transitions
  • Advocating for yourself in medical settings

Family Caregiver Support Group

For those caring for loved ones with chronic conditions, disabilities, or aging-related needs.

Caregiving is an act of love. It's also exhausting, isolating, and emotionally complex. This group honors the unique challenges family caregivers face: navigating systems, managing burnout, processing grief for the relationship that was, setting boundaries while providing care, and remembering your own needs matter too. Whether you're caring for a partner, parent, child, or other loved one, you deserve support on your journey.

Topics covered include:

  • Preventing burnout and compassion fatigue
  • Setting boundaries while providing care
  • Navigating healthcare and disability systems
  • Managing complex emotions
  • Finding respite and self-care
  • Balancing caregiving with your own life and needs:

FAQs

Currently, our groups are virtual via Zoom. We understand that many of our clients are unable to leave their homes, so we want to keep things as easily accessible as possible for all to attend. However, we also understand that others prefer in-person meet-ups and therefore are working to have in-person options available in the near future.

Currently, each group meets once a month as we understand that our clients energy is limited. We do plan on expanding to a bi-weekly schedule and/or weekly schedule to meet client needs if their feedback is to meet more often.

Since we're only meeting once a month, each session is 90 minutes long, with a 30 minute educational portion followed by open dialog and sharing for the remaining hour. The length of each session may change due to frequency of sessions in the future.

We want each voice to be heard and feel comfortable in sharing, which can be difficult in a large group. Therefore, we are limiting seats to no more than 15 people per session.

Absolutely! Many participants benefit from multiple groups (e.g., Chronic Pain + Mental Health + Women's Health). Some of the educational information may overlap, but for the most part, it will be different information and different experiences to share and learn from.

That's completely fine! Attend when you can. Consistency helps build connection, but we understand the unpredictableness of life when dealing with health issues. Even if you've signed up and paid for a session but are then unable to attend, we can transfer your payment to another session or process a refund.

No. To protect confidentiality and create safety, sessions are not recorded. We use a HIPAA compliant Zoom platform.

You're never required to share. Many people listen for months before speaking, and that's perfectly okay. Your presence matters.

We're committed to accessibility. Contact us if cost is a barrier - we'll work with you!
